I recommend using Epsom salts to so many of my clients, using them is effective, cheap and the benefits are endless !
Epsom salt is not actually a salt, it is a naturally occurring mineral compound, magnesium and sulphate. when I have mentioned the use of Epsom salts to clients they always say, my mother or grandmother always used them. They obviously knew the great health benefits !!
There have been studies into Epsom salts showing the amazing benefits and how soaking in a bath with the salts is a great way to enjoy the benefits. Magnesium plays such a role in the body including the regulation of over 325 enzymes, reducing inflammation, improving muscle and nerve function and helping to prevent hardening of the arteries. The sulphates improve our absorption of nutrients into the body and flush the toxins out. Also a great cure for migraines.
Are you suffering from stress ?
high levels of stress drains the body of magnesium, soaking in a bath of Epsom salts, I would recommend 2 cup fulls replenishes the body with magnesium. Magnesium also helps produce serotonin crating a feeling of calmness and relaxation. I would recommend bathing 3 times a week to counteract the effects of stress on the body.
Pain or muscle cramps ?
Epsom salts have always been known to ease muscular pain and reduce inflammation, also helping relieve migraines and bronchial asthma. To relieve muscle cramps and inflammation in joints, mix a good handful of salts with warm water and make a past. Apply to the area for an intense hit ! Improving nerve function is also another benefit, magnesium id so important to the use of calcium in the body which serves as the main conductor for electric impulses. improving proper functioning of the muscles and nerves and enzymes.
Hardening of the arteries/ blood clots
Epsom salts are believed to improve heart health, by helping to prevent heart disease strokes by improving the blood circulation and improving the elasticity of the arteries. There has been studies that show how Epsom salts can also help with insulin, both the magnesium and sulphates improves the effectiveness of insulin in the body, which could lower the risk of diabetes.
Rid the body of toxins
We are bombarded everyday with high level of toxins, our body needs as much help as possible to detox ! The skin being a highly porous membrane, absorbs so many toxins. The sulphates in Epsom salts also flush toxins and heavy metals out of the cells and out of the skin, this eases muscular pain and eliminates dangerous toxins. I would recommend soaking in a bath with 2 cups of salts once a week and soak for 20 mins. Make sure you drink plenty of water as you will be quite dehydrated afterwards.
So if you want to ease back pain, leg cramps, shoulder and neck pain. even migraines or just want to detox your body and take care of yourself, I can not recommend highly enough the benefits of Epsom salts. You can find them at your local supermarket of farm supplies, they are used to put minerals back in the soil.
